When your brain is primed to change

WEEK 6     ·     PROCESS

Something new is happening in psychiatry. For the first time in decades, we have interventions that can rapidly shift how the brain functions. Neurotherapeutic treatments open a window in the brain where change can come faster and last longer. Ketamine, for example, can lift a severe depression within 24 hours. For the right person, it can be genuinely life changing.

But the medical part of these treatments alone are not designed to use this window of possibility to create change that lasts. At Onto, we can provide treatment that helps maximize the effects of neurotherapeutic care.

Ketamine infusion therapy (KIT) is an innovative treatment for difficult to treat depression, anxiety, and PTSD symptoms. After a ketamine session, neuroplasticity, the brain’s capacity for change, is measurably elevated for several days to a week. During that time, it’s easier to break rigid, longstanding patterns and integrate emotional material that has been stuck for years. This means that the therapy work you do during ketamine treatment can be genuinely transformative.

The medicine opens a window. We help you use it before it closes.

Ketamine Integration Therapy

Doing focused therapy during the neuroplasticity window is one of the best ways to make lasting, positive change. Ketamine Integration Therapy is designed to run alongside a client’s ketamine treatment to enhance its effects.

We work closely with partnering neurotherapeutic practices and have established relationships with two excellent practices in the Boston Area:  Precision Neurotherapeutics and Inner Healing Medical.  Collaboration with Onto ensures that neurotherapeutic care, medications, therapy, and the client’s between-session life all reinforce each other.

“It gave me the opportunity to see the world and myself in a way that was free from the influence of my traumatic experiences. It truly made all the difference in my healing.”

— Onto client, 23 y/o female

Why most people miss the window

In most U.S. neurotherapeutic care, the medical piece and the therapy piece don’t talk to each other.  The neuroplasticity window opens, but without focused therapy, the window can close before you reap all of the benefits. It’s a little like getting a joint replacement and skipping the rehab.

ONE TIP: If you are considering neurotherapeutic treatment, ask your provider if they offer assisted or integrated therapy alongside it.  If not, ask how this might enhance the treatment you are doing.  This is where ONTO can help.
